Colorado-based Aspen Hospitality is looking to move east, unveiling early-stage plans to expand its Little Nell hotel concept to Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.
Aspen Hospitality opened its original The Little Nell luxury hotel in Aspen, Colo., in 1989.
The proposed Little Nell expansion, which is still awaiting development approval, would open in an office tower at 10 Rockefeller Plaza. Aspen Hospitality expects the 130-room property to debut in 2026.
In a statement, Aspen Hospitality said it would be working closely with real estate developer Tishman Speyer and other partners, including New York’s Department of City Planning, labor representatives, elected officials and community members, as the project moves through the approval process.
Part of the Aspen Skiing Co. portfolio, Aspen Hospitality’s other hotel holdings include the Limelight Hotel Aspen and Limelight Hotel Snowmass in Colorado and the Limelight Hotel Ketchum near Sun Valley, Idaho.
Aspen Hospitality’s East Coast foray comes as it also prepares to open the Limelight Hotel Denver later this year and the Limelight Hotel Mammoth in Mammoth, Calif., and the Limelight Hotel Boulder in Boulder, Colo., in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
