One of Mexico City’s premiere luxury hotels, Las Alcobas, has officially reopened following a refurbishment of its guestrooms and suites.
In addition to the refurbishment, the hotel has unveiled a new service, Best of Mexico City: Curated Experiences by Las Alcobas, which features a menu of upscale tours and insider add-ons that explore the history, art and cuisine of Mexico City.
The 35 guestrooms and suites have been given a fresh look. Headboards are framed in stitched leather panels, and the bed sheets have been upgraded to Rivolta Carmignani.
The spa-inspired bathrooms now have locally made soaps, eight-jet showers with rainfall showerheads and enclosed toilets with integrated bidets.
As for the new experiences program, the hotel has curated a collection of half-day and full-day private tours, complete with experienced guides, luxury vehicles, and drivers.
Popular options include the Birth of the New City — Burial of a Civilization, exploring the Aztec roots and Spanish colonial new buildings with the Metropolitan Cathedral and surrounding palaces. The Art Experience focuses on the love story of muralist Diego Rivera and painter Frida Kahlo. The Culinary Experience is a grazing tour of local flavors from tacos to tequila, while the Teotihuacan Experience takes you 25 miles northeast of the city to the 8-square-mile pyramid complex.
