AndBeyond will launch a branded expedition yacht in the Galapagos Islands this summer, expanding its South America portfolio.
The 12-passenger Galapagos Explorer will sail its first departure on June 17 after an extensive interior refurbishment. The vessel will operate seven-day itineraries, one each in the east and west Galapagos.
The six-cabin vessel (two suites and four cabins) will have two guides onboard. There will be opportunities for snorkeling, hiking and birdwatching. Rates for both itineraries begin from $10,950 per person, based on double occupancy.
AndBeyond plans to extend its Oceans Without Border initiative into the area and implement projects that support land and wildlife conservation, the training of local residents and local procurement.
Known primarily for its African safari product, andBeyond also operates the Vira Vira lodge in Chile’s Lake District. The company offers tours in Chile, Argentina, Peru and Ecuador. It has been operating Galapagos tours via ship charter.
The company launched in Africa more than 30 years ago and expanded to South America in 2015.
