Bonaire will host its first Bonaire Dive Week event Sept. 23 to 30. The event is a collaboration between Tourism Corporation Bonaire, PADI and the Buddy Dive Resort. Guests of the resort can book a package with such amenities as unlimited shore dives at Buddy Dive alongside 17 scheduled dives, seven nights’ accommodations, a rental vehicle for the duration of the week, hosted meals and airport transfers. (A shore dive is any dive where divers enter the water from land rather than a boat. PADI ranks Bonaire as the number-one location for shore diving in the world.)
All week, marine-life enthusiasts will have access to guided dives of renowned sites with local experts, night dives, post-dive festivities and presentations from both PADI staff and external speakers. There will also island excursions such as hiking, bird-watching and visiting historical sites on the island.
Buddy Dive Resort is the founding partner of the Reef Renewal Foundation, which focuses on protecting and restoring the coral reefs in Bonaire. Reef Renewal also has programs in the Cayman Islands, Curacao and the U.S.
Packages for Bonaire Dive Week start at $1,739 per diver, based on double occupancy. To learn more about the event and available packages, visit padi.com/padiclubbonaire.
