Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux will bring a taste of his iconic London restaurant, Le Gavroche, to Cunard cruises.
Roux is permanently closing the London restaurant this month and will host Le Gavroche at Sea on four voyages on the Queen Anne and Queen Mary 2, in partnership with the Norwegian Seafood Council.
Roux will begin with a five-night residency on the Queen Mary 2 on a roundtrip sailing from Southampton, England, departing June 2. Le Gavroche at The Verandah will cater to 60 diners each evening. A five-course tasting menu will be “infused with all the flavors of the sea,” Cunard said. Guests will pay a cover charge.
Roux also will host a residency aboard the Queen Mary 2 during a roundtrip fjords sailing departing Aug. 6 from Hamburg, Germany. Then, Roux will deliver another five-night takeover with Le Gavroche at Sir Samuel’s on Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne. The cruise departs for Stavanger in Norway on Aug. 11. This dining experience will accommodate 50 guests each night.
Roux’s final residency will take place on the Queen Anne on a seven-night fjords sailing departing Southampton on Sept. 1.
Roux will be a guest speaker on all four sailings to tell stories from his 40-plus-year career in hospitality.
The chef will also be creating an exclusive gala menu for Queen Anne’s Queen Grill and Princess Grill restaurant and a new menu for the Golden Lion pub.
