NASHVILLE — Explora Journeys’ first ship will not, as previously announced, go to Alaska in summer 2024. Instead, the Explora I will sail the Mediterranean.
Explora chief sales officer Chris Austin made the announcement in an address to the Travel Leaders Network’s Luxury Leaders Alliance, a subgroup of Travel Leaders Network made up of advisors with $1 million or more in luxury sales.
Austin said the deployment change was made in response to feedback from consumers and travel advisors.
Summer 2024 Mediterranean sailings will be posted on the line’s advisor portal on May 10 and will be released to consumers on May 22.
The 922-passenger Explora I will be named in Civitavecchia, Italy, on July 8, prior to its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, on July 17.
Explora Journeys is a luxury line owned by MSC Group.
