Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is returning to the Big Easy.
Expected to open by summer 2025, the luxury hotel will debut as part of a redevelopment project at 1010 Common St., located within New Orleans’ downtown Central Business District.
The Fairmont New Orleans will span 18 stories and have 250 guestrooms, 40 of which will be suites. The property will also feature three food and beverage concepts, including an all-day restaurant, a lobby lounge and a rooftop bar and speakeasy; a 10,000-square-foot spa; and 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The property’s debut will come two decades after the former Fairmont New Orleans, which was located roughly a block away at 130 Roosevelt Way, shuttered after Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. The hotel reopened in 2009 but parted ways with the Fairmont brand, reflagging as the Roosevelt New Orleans and joining Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria portfolio.
