Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, an IHG Hotels & Resorts’ brand, has planted its first flag in the Dominican Republic.
On track to open this summer, the Kimpton Las Mercedes will be located in Santo Domingo, within the capital’s Colonial City neighborhood. The project, which involves the repurposing of a building that dates back to the 16th century, will blend preserved architectural features with contemporary elements.
The property will be operated by the Iberostar Group. IHG and Iberostar entered what they termed a “long-term commercial alliance” in November 2022.
