The Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, has reopened following a nearly eight-month, $35 million renovation.
The newly reimagined property draws inspiration from the indigenous people of the Caribbean, the Taino. The resort said the “Taino Soul” concept is weaved throughout the renovated property, including in one of its two new restaurants.
Next month, the resort will debut new room categories and the inclusion of Premium Deluxe swim-up suites.
The resort has also introduced two specialty restaurants: Taino Restaurant, offering local fare, and Restaurant Yurta, serving Mongolian dishes.
Guests at Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda have exchange privileges with neighboring properties, which include Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar, Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine, Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana, Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro and Bahia Principe Grand Turquesa + Fantasia Punta Cana, which are all connected by a shuttle service.
The family-friendly Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda has two pools, seven restaurants, three bars, a spa and a children’s waterpark.
