When the Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony relaunch, they will have redesigned spa spaces.
Previously operated under Crystal Cruises but relaunching as Crystal under new owner A&K Travel Group, the line has partnered with Tillberg Design of Sweden to develop Aurora, a spa space redesigned with new colors and upgraded with new wellness technology.
The Aurora Spa will feature skincare brands Elemis and Kerastase and staff estheticians who will customize facials using Elemis’ Biotec technology. Light is a significant feature at the spa and is incorporated in featured treatments, including the LED and Cryo Facial Experience, which Crystal said would plump and tone the skin. Other featured treatments are Biotec 2.0 The Ultimate Facial, Aurora Stone Signature Massage and The Chariot of Light LED light therapy.
The spa’s physical design will take its cues from early morning colors and will rely on light-bright neutral tones and an use an illuminated fiber optic starlight ceiling.
The Serenity will have 12 treatment rooms while the Symphony will have 10. Both ships will have steam rooms for men and women, saunas and a relaxation room. The ships will also have a salon providing hair, nail and make-up services for both men and women.
The spa will also offer mind and body fitness, including yoga and meditation classes.
Both ships are undergoing refurbishments at Fincantieri’s yard Trieste, Italy. The 740-passenger Serenity is expected to set sail on a 12-day cruise from Marseilles to Lisbon on July 31. The Symphony will debut on Sept. 1 with a seven-day cruise from Athens to Istanbul.
