Regent Seven Seas Cruises will roll out a new fare structure this summer that lowers the entry price point.
Regent has historically offered an all-inclusive cruise fare that incorporates business-class air travel and transfers. The new price structure, effective for bookings made on or after July 1, will give guests the option to pay a lower cruise fare and book transportation on their own.
“Flexibility is the ultimate luxury,” said Regent Seven Seas Cruises president Andrea DeMarco. “You get the same cruise experience with either of the fares. The big difference is how you get to and from the cruise.”
The cruise-only price includes the line’s staple inclusions, like unlimited shore excursions, dining and WiFi, along with one-night pre-cruise hotel and butler service for guests in high-end accommodations, But it will not include air or transfers. This option is ideal for clients who want to use credit cards or airline loyalty points to purchase their flights.
The “ultimate all-inclusive fare” enables guests to choose first class, business class, premium or economy air. It also includes coach transfers from the airport to the ship and a $500 credit per suite for private executive transfers through Blacklane chauffeur service. The credit is estimated to cover two transfers up to 50 miles each in an SUV or minivan and carry five pieces of luggage. The credit can be used for up to 10 days pre-cruise or 10 days post-cruise.
DeMarco said the lower entry price will help attract cruisers who sail on premium cruise lines guests to try a luxury cruise.
“I think this is a great opportunity for travel partners to lean into luxury and to customize to their guests’ unique perspective,” said DeMarco.
The fare types will be available on all cruises and will not have different terms and conditions. Reservations for guests who booked before July 1 will remain unchanged with amenities included as originally selected.
The change in fare type will not change the commission for travel advisors as the air portion of the purchase is not commissionable.
The new cruise-only fare at Regent comes two months after Silversea rolled out new fare types for its luxury cruise product. That line is offering a discounted nonrefundable fare that does not include shore excursions and must be paid in full at the time of booking. That fare is only available on select cruises.
