Real estate firm Gruppo Statuto has appointed Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to manage a hotel in Milan.
The Rosewood Milan is scheduled to open in 2025 on the edge of the Quadrilatero della Moda, the city’s fashion district. The hotel will be steps away from the famous shopping boulevard Via Montenapoleone.
The hotel will occupy the historic Palazzo Branca and Palazzo della Banca Commerciale Italiana. The 19th century buildings will be revitalized.
Plans call for 70 guestrooms, including 20 suites. The Rosewood Milan also will be home to a bar and restaurant with a courtyard and garden, and an Asaya wellness facility with three treatment rooms, an indoor pool and fitness center.
Parisian firm Studio K.O. will oversee the hotel’s design, “creating a space that is eclectic, colorful and timeless all at once, melding classical details with modern touches that breathe new life and energy into the grand, historic building while respecting its cultural heritage,” Rosewood said.
Rosewood has been busy expanding in Italy, with the Rosewood Rome, Rosewood Hotel Bauer in Venice and Rosewood Porto Cervo on Sardinia in development. The company currently operates an estate resort in Tuscany, the Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco.
