Silversea will put the Silver Endeavour through another round of refurbishments in April, this time to add 10 suites, including two new suite categories.
The line said this latest set of changes stems from high demand for the ship’s largest accommodations. This is the second round of refurbishments for the ship since Silversea acquired the Endeavour from the defunct Crystal Cruises in July 2022.
The work will be done at San Giorgio del Porto shipyard in Genova, Italy, once the ship arrives on April 3 following the conclusion of its inaugural Antarctica season. Once complete, the ship is scheduled to set sail for a season in the Arctic in June.
In addition to the new suites, Silversea will build cabins for seven additional crew members, which the line said would help maintain a high guest-to-crew ratio and expand the expedition team to 22 members. Other changes will include the installation of Lalique crystal panels in La Dame, the line’s French restaurant.
Two Master Suites and four Signature Suites, both new suite categories, will be built on deck eight and replace the former helicopter hangar.
The Master Suites will be located toward the aft with 270-degree views from 312 square-foot verandas and living areas. Each suite will measure 1,163 square feet and feature living and dining areas, bedrooms with king-sized or twin beds, a walk-in closet, a bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate whirlpool bath. The living room will include a convertible sofa to accommodate a third guest.
Signature Suites will range from 721 to 850 square feet and include an open living room and dining area, a bedroom with king-sized or twin beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, a walk-in closet, an adjoining bathroom with a walk-in shower and a whirlpool bath.
Like the Master Suite, the living room will include a convertible sofa. The space will also include floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a veranda between 167 and 269 square feet.
Starboard side on deck five, the line will build four Classic Veranda suites in place of the medical center, which will relocate to the space currently occupied by the casino. The suites include a traditional layout of the line’s existing Veranda Suites, measuring 356 square feet with 52 square-foot verandas.
