Tauck is adding six new European river cruises to its 2024 lineup with each featuring special dinners onshore in palatial settings.
The cruises will sail on the Rhine, Main, Danube, and Seine rivers, along with a new itinerary sailing the Dutch waterways. Dinners will be accompanied by evening receptions and musical performances on properties that include Palais Pallavicini in Vienna and Schlosshotel Kronberg outside of Frankfurt.
Tauck is also introducing new pre- and post-cruise hotel stays at the Riessersee Hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and at Switzerland’s Fairmont Le Montreux Palace in Montreux and the InterContinental Geneve in Geneva.
The six new cruises are:
Danube Kingdoms: Bavaria, Austria & Hungary, a 12-day sailing from Munich to Budapest that includes a four-night, land-based exploration of Bavaria with hotel stays in Munich and Partenkirchen in addition to a seven-night cruise on the Danube. This itinerary will feature a Tauck-exclusive evening at Palais Pallavicini, a private Viennese palace, and includes a reception, gala dinner and classical music performances. Rates begin at $6,990 per person plus airfare.
Three Rivers: Danube, Main & Rhine, a 10-day sailing that can be done from Amsterdam to Regensburg or reverse, and includes an evening at Schlosshotel Kronberg, the former home of German Empress Victoria Friedrich that now operates as a luxury hotel. The property also features an 18-hole golf course designed by Dwight D. Eisenhower. Rates begin at $5,990 per person plus airfare.
Rhine Connoisseur: Montreux to Brussels, an 11-day sailing that kicks off with a three-night stay at the Fairmont Montreux Palace and includes explorations of the Lavaux Vineyards, Montreux and Glacier 3000. Featured on this itinerary is an exclusive reception and dinner at Slot Loevestein, a 14th century castle located on a private island in the Netherlands that has through the years served as a prison, a residence and a toll station. Rates start from $6,790 per person plus airfare.
Hidden Waterways of Flanders and Holland, an 8-day trip from Brussels to Amsterdam that will feature a dinner and reception at Slot Loevestein in the Netherlands. Ports visited along the way include Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Gorinchem, Leiden, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Rates start from $4,690 per person plus airfare.
River Seine: Châteaux, Impressionism & Normandy, an 8-day sailing that begins and ends near Paris at Le Pecq. This itinerary includes a private evening with a tour, dinner and music at Château du Taillis, a 16th century Italian Renaissance mansion set on a parkland estate in Duclair, France. Destinations visited along the along the way include Auvers-sur-Oise, Les Andelys, Tilly, Mont-Saint-Michel, Étretat, Honfleur, the D-Day Beaches of Normandy, Rouen, and Giverny, where guests will enjoy early-entry admission to the home and gardens of Impressionist painter Claude Monet.
La Belle Vie: The Rhône, Geneva & The Riviera, a 14-day itinerary that includes a nine-night river cruise along the Rhone River that is bookended by a pair of two-night hotel stays in Cannes and Geneva, along with guided sightseeing tours in both cities. The special dinner highlighting this itinerary will be hosted at Duché d’Uzès and will feature a private tour, dinner and cocktails.
