Melia Hotels International is raising its Mexico profile with plans to debut a pair of newbuild luxury properties in Guadalajara and on the Riviera Nayarit.
The group’s Guadalajara project, which will be Melia’s first city hotel in Mexico, will be flagged under its ME by Melia brand. The 150-room property is on track to open next year, featuring a rooftop pool and bar as well as multiple dining outlets.
On the Riviera Nayarit, Melia will be opening a 180-room resort under its Gran Melia flag, which will mark that brand’s debut in the Mexico market. It is expected to open by 2025.
The pair will join seven Melia Hotels properties already in operation in Mexico, including an existing ME by Melia outpost in Los Cabos.
