Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is launching several new river cruise itineraries and upgrading several existing voyages in 2023.
The company is creating four new itineraries across Europe, including a new Christmas market cruise, as well adding days and excursions to existing sailings.
Starting in April, Uniworld will offer a new 15-day Grand Central Europe cruise that visits Switzerland, France, Germany and Austria on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. The itinerary sails on the 128-passenger River Princess. Highlights of the trip include climbing to the treetops of Bamberg while wandering the Bavarian Forest and sailing the Wachau Valley.

A new 10-day Zurich & the Rhine River Valley will focus on sailing the Rhine and Main rivers through Switzerland, France and Germany. Also hosted aboard the River Princess, guests will enjoy historical and nature-oriented aspects of the trip from visits to medieval towns to canoe rides in nature reserves. There will also be an add-on option to take a daytrip to the spa town of Baden Baden.
A Christmas market cruise in Belgium is joining Uniworld’s holiday-themed portfolio. The eight-day Belgian Holiday Markets itinerary onboard the River Empress will feature Flemish Christmas markets for guests looking to branch out beyond the typical holiday market destinations in Germany and France.
Uniworld is also gearing up to launch its longest cruise itinerary in the spring. The 46-night Rivers of the World cruise will take guests on a land and cruise journey across nine countries, starting in Cairo and ending in Lisbon. Guests will experience five of the company’s Super Ships sailing the Nile River in Egypt and the Rhine, Main, Danube and Seine rivers as well as the Venetian Lagoon and wrapping up on Portugal’s Douro river.
The Nights Out excursion program will be included in nearly every European itinerary starting in 2023. The program features private evening experiences, and new excursions will include a visit to Faber-Castell in Nuremberg, Germany, on the Delightful Danube itinerary; an after-hours visit to Bassins des Lumie in Bordeaux, France, on the Brilliant Bordeaux sailing; and a concert from a boys’ choir and brandy tasting with monks on the Highlights of Eastern Europe trip.

The company is also giving guests more add-on excursion choices for an additional fee as part of its Masterpiece Collection, which are optional excursions that offer unique itineraries in the destinations visited.
Guests who want to extend their cruises will also be able to add on days to the front or back end of their cruises through land programs featuring luxury hotels or rail. Extension packages include a variety of hotel options, transfers and a destination expert to escort guests along the way.
New extensions include 2 nights in Interlaken, Switzerland, and a visit to Jungfraujoch, the “Top of Europe,” in conjunction with the Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland itinerary; four nights at the Red Sea Post in conjunction with the Splendors of Egypt & the Nile trip, which includes a visit to the St. Catherine Monastery; a four-night rail add-on to/from Venice and Zurich; and a 4-night roundtrip rail add-on to/from Budapest.
